Krystyna Anna, Stefan's god-daughter, ran in the Susan G Komen "Race for the Cure" on October 9, 2005 with 41,500 entrants on the streets of downtown Phoenix. This is the third year in a row that she has entered the race and she had her fastest 5K finish at 25 minutes. She is shooting for 21 minutes for 5K next year.

On September 5th, 2005, Stefan was diagnosed with AML - Acute Myeloid Leukemia, subcategory M2.
On February 7th, 2006, Stefan went home after his stem cell transplant. With a little luck and a lot of prayers, that will be his last stay at NMH.
