Sucky day to be in bed... Mon 11/7 update on Stefan

After the completely CRAPPY day of weather we had on Saturday (Did anyone else have marble-sized hail raining down on them?!??), today is the perfect fall day. The sky is bluer than blue, with just a few wisps of clouds in the distance. The leaves on the tree outside the office window here are a golden yellow that almost glows in the sunlight. The temperature is crisp and brisk, as fall temps should be. All in all, a wonderful day, don't you agree?

Well, I would agree that as fall days go, this one is tops. But as days go, this one sucks! It's a sucky day to be in bed, because that's what Stefan is doing today. Stefan is still downtown in 1537West at NMH. His fever did finally drop during the night, so it was 98.3 this morning. He's getting another bag of platelets this morning, and probably more blood later too. According to Grouchy, the hospital food still tastes like cardboard, but at least he had his own pillow to sleep on, and his own clothes and slippers to change into. And his doting wife got to spend another night on those oh-so-comfortable couch/beds in the hospital rooms.

I did learn that Stefan had some visitors yesterday, when Daniella went home for stuff... Janette and Paul dropped in for a few minutes to see him, since he wasn't going to make it to dinner to see them! Glad that they all managed a short visit together, just to catch up.

No word yet on when he'll be released. And no word on any changes in appointments either. If Stefan is released today, he has 2 appointments to come back for tomorrow. Daniella was trying to get those appointments changed, to have them today instead. Cross your fingers and hope for the best - that he has the appointments this afternoon, after being released before lunch.

That's all I got for you folks right now. Not much news, I know. But I also know y'all come out and read for updates, so I thought I'd log in again and post something. I didn't do too much posting while he was home for two weeks, or when he went back for his 2nd chemo, or since. I apologize, especially to those out-of-towners who checked back daily to read about any progress. For one, there wasn't any progress to report - he was home, doing his thing. No changes. Daniella posted pictures of nurse visits and other stuff. Then, Stefan's blog became a bragging blog for Daniella, with pictures of the grandkids and all. (I'm gonna have to set her up with a blog of her own, to post stuff like that on.) Secondly, it was nice for me to have a break from daily blogging. Daily (sometimes hourly) updates were more crucial during Stefan's first month after diagnosis, when he was in the hospital for four weeks. Once he went home, there wasn't much to report on, so I didn't blog daily. Now that he's back in for something they can't figure out, I'll try to update y'all daily, with whatever news I hear.

If you have the inclination, give him a call. If he can't talk, he'll let you know. But otherwise, I think he's got cabin fever starting again... Call or email me and I'll give you the phone number, unless you're able to figure it out on your own!

Hugs to all - hope you had a safe and Happy Halloween last week. Keep safe, keep happy, and keep warm - it's brisk out there!
